Everyone likes trying new things. Well…okay, not everyone, but we should. And whether we want to admit it or not, many of us are addicted to social media. We love meeting new people and in today’s world, we can meet people all over the globe. With that being said, I’m here to ask if you all would join me on a new social media site. It's called #MeWe. Why MeWe, you ask? Well here's my review of this up and coming platform.
MeWe has been out a few years now but just recently started picking up users. Its theme is "The Next-Gen Social Network". To me, this says it's trying to focus towards a younger audience but it's really for everyone. I have met some younger people but many of them are actually older believe it or not. It has something for everyone. The layout is really easy to navigate too.
Their main tagline too, is that everything is private. This means there isn’t any privacy breaches like other sites we know. All of your stuff stays private.
One big thing I like on this site is that it seems like it’s all of the big named sites rolled into one. It's taken the best from the others and put it all into one place. Like a smorgasbord of your favorite desserts all on one plate.
Probably my favorite part is that you can emoji anything on other's posts. There isn’t just a LIKE or LOVE button. You can emoji just about anything from a smiley to a frowny to that silly '100' that everyone likes. This means dislikes or angry too. It’s one thing I wish the other sites had.
Another neat feature I like is that each group, or community, has its own "chat". This means that every group has its own direct messaging for quicker responses. I believe Facebook is just now experimenting with this.
This brings me now to the things I don’t like but there really isn’t that many. The first being that it's still fairly new so there aren’t a lot of people on. This is why I'm trying to get the word out.
Another thing is that it appears to be group oriented. More people are in groups as opposed to their own feeds. Not really something I dislike but it caught my attention. This could just be because it's still new, I don't know, but that’s really all I have.
So, while some sites are stalking your every move, like Facebook, or others like Google Plus shutting down, why not give MeWe a shot? You’ll be glad you did.
If you do decide to jump aboard, be sure to check out three communities that I’ve built already. One is called Gates of Life. This has been my ministry page for a few years now, on Facebook and YouTube already. I’ve brought it over there as well. The second is, Truly Inspiring. Here I hope to share things that help people see the good in the world and help them grow. Last, there is All Walks of Music. I love music and know that everything they play on the radio is awful at best. Some of the best music out there isn’t reaching the airwaves. I’ll share some fun and creative music that I’ve come across.
Hope to see you there!
" everything they play on the radio is awful at best. Some of the best music out there isn’t reaching the airwaves. "-my favorite kevinchi kaybo quote so far. True true TRUE!!!!!!! Commercial radio only buys the right to play so many songs. Then plays the same songs over and over and over while raking in big commercial $$$ while exposing the public to absolutely ZERO musical diversity!
